Code Geass R2 – Will there be a Season 3 or R3? (Anime)
Let’s start by saying that Code Geass season 1 was awesome and R2 was still awesome. The ending was unexpected and very much aligned with the coolness of the series. Is this the end though? Will there be a season 3? Did Lelouch die? I found this youtube video of episode 25 of R2 and someone posted up an analysis of why they believe Lelouch isn’t dead which I think would be sweeeet! Check it out and let me know what you think:
“Lelouch IS NOT DEAD, here is the explanation:
1. He killed his father and he has his code, but it gets active when the user dies. Remember, in C.C.’s memories she says: “Please, get out of my body” reffering to the Geass when she dies for first time and realizes that she is inmortal. Well the Geass gets active in Lelouch when he dies.
2. C.C. is talking with Lelouch… think again: She never talks again with Marianne when she dies completly or she never talks or see Mao when he dies, so… Lelouch is alive.
3. In this final scene C.C says: “The power of Geass brings loneliness…thats not quite right is it, Lelouch?” So… if Lelouch is not alone anymore and is with C.C… he must to be the wagon driver, ne?, look how C.C. nods her head in the direction of the wagon driver =)
4. R2 = R.R. in japanese the “L” letter is pronunced like a “R”, so If all is pronuntiation we have this:
R.R. = L.L (In english) = Lelouch Lamperouge so… he is inmortal.
Another exponation with the pronuntiation is C.C.’s name… it’s never have been revealed, but her name must to be Elizabeth, ¿why?
C.C. = Sissy = Some people calls Sissy to woman called Elizabeth.
Just a pronuntiation game.
5. Lelouch traspassed his memories to Nunally before “die”… only a user with a powerful code can do it… we know that C.C. can do it, but not Lelouch, so… he is inmortal.
You have to analyse every chapter and understand the Geass power to conclude this, but believe me, LELOUCH IS NOT DEAD!! =P”
So there it is…I don’t know if the writers can pull out of their butts a meaningful season 3 but I’m still hoping they can. And if Lelouch is immortal now and travelling with C.C. ….DAMN he’s a lucky guy and Suzaku got the shaft!!! lol

I couldn’t even finish Eureka 7…I think I made it to episode 12. Maybe Ichiro went through some life changing events and he turned into a good writer.
1but she was only able to tell if they were lying because she was blind and etc. she just saw everything he had done in the days leading to his death, which means he showed it to her through the mental link that those with double names (C.C C2, V.V. V2) and that would make lelouch L.L. L2. this would also make him immortal
2Hey has anyone noticed that people dont talk too much about the visions about the geass?
I mean it goes like when Zero had his contract with c.c. he had visions of a planet, space, people with the same geass mark on their foreheads and other stuff.
Has anyone explained this yet?
O and why is there more than 1 person with the geass?
Like V2 he has the geass but he and charles were brothers. Meaning he was given the geass when he was just a child = someone else gave the geass to him. This wasn’t explained very well either. So maybe their is more to the geass than immortality or giving powers. Maybe it has something to do with the people of old who have the geass marks on their foreheads? Like maybe their trying to fulfill their beliefs maybe a prophecy or something. Dunno. Hope more reason for a season 3 then.
3if i remember corectly like when rolo kills shurly lelouche goes on a rapage and kills this under ground society of geass users. and there are all these little nublets runing around with those marks on their head. i think thats what that stuff is, as for the wierd planet and such idk…
4those underground society of geass users where just experiments by v2 who was researching it with a bunch of scientists from britannia. The kids were just given the geass. They weren’t descendants of the geass people from the vision.
5I have been turning this over and OVER in my head ever since I finished re watching CG a second time. And all of these facts about imortality and Lelouch being unable to die really make sense. So, I do believe that they could do an R# but here is a true question for anyone who really has thought about this, or not I didn’t really waste my time with going through ALL of the comments, But it wouldn’t be the rebellian would it? I mean There is nothing really to rebel against.. just a thought, I hope they do a third season and if they do i hope it will be WORTHY of watching.. because more often than notdo they completely destroy the show with ongoing seasons..

8Well first off i just finished the season and the ending was ok i thought it ended when lelouch became empor then i found these and i agree that he isnt dead but you couldnt call it r3 if the r means l would it mean lll lelouch lamparadge what. and if they make a movie or ovas i think as asaid above nunnley gets capturedby terroist or something and be comes out of the shadows with c.c. and rescues her and seince kallen knows what happend it will be lelouch, c.c., Suzaku,and Kallen saveing nunnely and they have lots of ways i belive to continue this like if their was cs world what eles could their be or i think it said somewhere geass people were originaly a religon so a rival religon with a anti geass or something or seince schinsel is still alive he forms the white knights and etc. sorry if these sound stupid but i really want them to continue this is the best anime in a longtime that actully isnt THAT predictable like Bleach,or Naruto and other anime

10Lelouch is not dead. It seems that the last episode was pretty complex but this is my point of view.
The Code is the power of immortality, which C.C. has. The 98th Emperor of Britannia, Charles, has the Code. He transferred the Code to Lelouch while strangling him in episode 21. Lelouch wanted this, and he deliberately told Suzaku to not interfere.
Lelouch needed the fully evolved Geass to transfer a code. As hinted that Charles also had a fully evolved Geass (bird sigels’ in both eyes), thus he was able to get the code from V.V
However, the Code does not activate unless receiver dies first. This is shown when the nun kills C.C. after transferring the Code to her. Charle’s Code activated when he shot himself. Here is one of the big misconceptions that most people have: The transfer of the Code does not involve death of the transferrer. The nun was crazy and killed herself after she transferred her code. VV was injured from the battle and died. So basically, after episode 21, Lelouch had Charle’s Code (inactivated) and C.C’s contracted Geass.
When Lelouch got stabbed by Zero/Suzaku at the end, his Code was activated. What supports this is that Nunnally got Lelouch’s memories when she touched him, just like Lelouch did when he touched C.C. back in Narita. The only way this could have happened is his Code activating. This pretty much confirms that he has the Code.
Unlike C.C., and Charles, who lost their Geasses because the people who contracted them died, Lelouch didn’t obtain C.C.’s Code and thus kept his Geass, while having the Code (which he obtained from Charles at the same time). Lelouch therefore has achieved CODE GEASS.
Another clever thing is that the title has R2 in it. Just like C.C and V.V we can say that R.R is the fully evolved Lelouch.
He’s now traveling the country-side with C.C., living as immortals.
That’s the only reason for C.C. to be suddenly so happy again. Also, before you say that C.C. was just talking to the dead like with Marianne, that’s not true. She could only talk to her because of the nature of her Geass which allowed her to implant herself into the “hearts” of others. That’s how she was able to talk with Marianne. Lelouch’s Geass was entirely different, meaning that she could only have spoken to him if he was there.
11sadly there wont be code geass r3 with lelouch or anything like CG R1/R2 but there is side story Code Geass – Nightmare of Nunnally so maybe they make anime and i think that wont be half as good as lelouch or rebelion T_T

16If you recall, C.C. made the contract with Lelouch in hopes that he would fulfill a wish for her, that he would take her place allowing her to finally die, which is why she turns to Emperor Charles because he’s capable of doing it.
The power of her geass was love, she wanted to be loved by someone and because of her geass she was loved by all, but she goes on to say that there was so much love she couldn’t identify true love. All the people that had hatred or kindness for her and dwindled away with the flow of time. When Lelouch saves C.C. from Emperor Charles he yells at her “I know it C.C.! Your geass, your true wish!” which to me sounds like death wasn’t her wish, it was true love…but she had never known it so death was just another alternative. At the end of the last ep C.C. says “The power of kings brings one solitude…Thats not quite accurate is it? Right, Lelouch?”
So you know she was talking to the driver…you have a good sense that its Lelouch.
I have to say that Lukchin sounds pretty on par, but this stuck out to me the most…true love comes in many different forms and maybe C.C. got her wish, now the two of them can travel together and look toward the future. Which was Lelouch’s plan from the beginning, he wanted the future to happen.
A third season could happen, I mean its very possible…but the way I see it the way this anime ended was perfect. Out of a world of pain and despair you can find happiness if you look hard enough for it, there is redemption. It leaves off on a good note, Lelouch and C.C. have each other ; )
17i’d like to argue to some proofs in the first post.
1- i have watched 2 seasons of anime and haven’t noticed even single time when C.C or V.V use their geass, which can mean that they have no geass. second proof is that C.C did have geass, but when the code passed to her, nobody loved her any more.
2- she “talks” to lelouch? naaah, i guess she’s got bound to him, and talks to him as if he was near, but still realizing that he was dead
3- she rises her eyes to the sky, not to the wagon driver. u see, many people think that souls of the dead people got o heaven, or to some other place, but it is deffinetely in the sky
4- r2 can also mean “second rebellion”
5- Lelouch has no power to pass his mind to Nunnaly, as like C.C doesn’t have this power, because it was just Marianne’s variation of Geass.

25Well…..he was mostly robotics so that gave him a totally unfair advantage, I think in that robotic state he could beat Suzaku, and a side note, I dont think he would have let Suzaku past on purpose, with a smile on his face, to kill a person of the family that he has devoted his life to without knowing he was immortal. Oh and I think Suzaku was crying because he wasn’t told that LeLeouche was immortal, he was like “the hitman” and had as little information as possible given to him since he would have to stay as a idol to the people as Zero, and he needed to truly believe LeLouche was dead, just like Nunally. Thats what I think and of course its all speculation since Sunrise says he actually did die….maybe there lying and will suprise us with an R3? I hope so ^_^

41Lelouche is most likely alive cause the guy code users dont have the mark on there heads… its on there right hand… his right hand was covered in blood so the people watching couldnt have known… also y Orange boy sayed strike true knight… he wouldnt have let lelouche die for no reason… also that part with C.C. in the church… think she was sad cause u they said u loss your memory when u became a code user… so she was most likely sad cause she didnt know if he would still like her.
p.s. i still stick with my thought of a branch of the BK going bad… starting a new main charactor and lelouche gettin shot a cupple of times trying to tell karen and the others hes immortal… that or finding theres another battle between them and the gods but that would suck cause then it will more or less lead to somthing like Gurenlagan… i hate that show

2. some people where wondering how code users lost geass… u have to have geass that reaches a sertain lvl to get code and u have to die to have the code become active which distroys geass… thats y lelouches dad didnt change lelouches mind when he tryed to control god and y C.C. had the memorys of people throwing stones at her when she was in the church…
there was something else i wanted to say but i forgot and one more thing… i love the show and i find lots of small stupid things so i hope some understand now…

47last night i rewatched all of season one cause i was bored and i noticed in the 11th ep the researchers that cloves cammanded had two containers like the one C.C. was in and the thought hit me maybe theres more then 2 code users… just felt like putin that out there

49Well now…i really think that there will be season 3 soon, that’s because he never died (im sure of it) he was the one driving with c2 on the final episode, and the one susaku killed was probably sayoko(the maid) as she was always the one pretending to be lelouch, he not that damn, he must have planned something else rather than to sacrifice himself…
that’s just my opinion anyway..so let’s just hope ”Lelouch Vi Britannia” will be BACK…!!!!!!!
