Code Geass R2 – Will there be a Season 3 or R3? (Anime)
Let’s start by saying that Code Geass season 1 was awesome and R2 was still awesome. The ending was unexpected and very much aligned with the coolness of the series. Is this the end though? Will there be a season 3? Did Lelouch die? I found this youtube video of episode 25 of R2 and someone posted up an analysis of why they believe Lelouch isn’t dead which I think would be sweeeet! Check it out and let me know what you think:
“Lelouch IS NOT DEAD, here is the explanation:
1. He killed his father and he has his code, but it gets active when the user dies. Remember, in C.C.’s memories she says: “Please, get out of my body” reffering to the Geass when she dies for first time and realizes that she is inmortal. Well the Geass gets active in Lelouch when he dies.
2. C.C. is talking with Lelouch… think again: She never talks again with Marianne when she dies completly or she never talks or see Mao when he dies, so… Lelouch is alive.
3. In this final scene C.C says: “The power of Geass brings loneliness…thats not quite right is it, Lelouch?” So… if Lelouch is not alone anymore and is with C.C… he must to be the wagon driver, ne?, look how C.C. nods her head in the direction of the wagon driver =)
4. R2 = R.R. in japanese the “L” letter is pronunced like a “R”, so If all is pronuntiation we have this:
R.R. = L.L (In english) = Lelouch Lamperouge so… he is inmortal.
Another exponation with the pronuntiation is C.C.’s name… it’s never have been revealed, but her name must to be Elizabeth, ¿why?
C.C. = Sissy = Some people calls Sissy to woman called Elizabeth.
Just a pronuntiation game.
5. Lelouch traspassed his memories to Nunally before “die”… only a user with a powerful code can do it… we know that C.C. can do it, but not Lelouch, so… he is inmortal.
You have to analyse every chapter and understand the Geass power to conclude this, but believe me, LELOUCH IS NOT DEAD!! =P”
So there it is…I don’t know if the writers can pull out of their butts a meaningful season 3 but I’m still hoping they can. And if Lelouch is immortal now and travelling with C.C. ….DAMN he’s a lucky guy and Suzaku got the shaft!!! lol

There are still lots of questions that are left hanging, so I am really looking forward to witness the real Lord Zero’s come back. And to find answers to those questions like how the geass started to exist and how did V.V. got his? What is C.C.’s real name? as well as V.V.?

the site i posted is one of the things i found in my hunting… also found some other stuff on the same site that pretty much said there starting up another code geass prodgect and that the past thing lukchin said is just home info mostlikly going to explain how britania opened up japanese trade to the world in place or americas… but thats just my thought… lots of stuff america did… i want to know how hitler was killed i that reality… juts a thought :3

also i think the biggest give away to lelouch being imortal is when he shows his sis some of tehe memorys he has after he dies cause she was confused looking then after the memorys she starts saying “brother dont go, i cant live on if i dont have u… “(i didnt say it exactly i just had the thought so dont nag my on it being right)

201. Lelouch body has died but hes inside CC
2.Lelouch is alive and hes talking with CC with his power(same way his mother and CC talked)
3.Lelouch is alive and is in the wagon with CC
So it doesn’t matter what way you look at it, Lelouch IS ALIVE.CC would newer talk to herself(Shes not like that)

21First off, an R3 HAS been confirmed. Supposedly based off the manga adaptation of Nightmare of Nunnally, R3 is supposed to take place three years after Zero Requiem where Nunnally also becomes a Knightmare pilot. Suzaku-Zero now pilots a regular old Sutherland, but there has been no confirmation yet as to whether Lelouch is dead or alive. (Source: 4Chan Magazine)
Also, in Nightmare of Nunnally they confirmed CC’s real name as Joan. In the manga CC was the one who captured the French witch Joan of Arc, who in her dying moments cursed CC with her own name and immortality. Remember now, that while Britannia is actually America in Code Geass they get their roots from the British Isles prior to England’s conquest by other forces. While there was not a Queen Elizabeth at the time it is not impossible that there was an Elizabeth on the battlefield. Regardless, in the NoN storyline CC’s “Real Name” is Joan.
22@Chakra You missed part of the final episode. After Lelouch gives Suzaku the mask for Zero Requiem he starts talking about how Geass are like wishes and friends: that what you cannot do alone you ask (or demand) somebody helps you with. He then goes on to talk about how he’s gambling that the “Geass” (wishes) of humanity’s spirit will lead the world to peace, like how he wished for “God” to never stop the progression of time (which was accepted as a Geass solely for the dramatic effect of dual-Geass Lelouch).
So in the end, he is not entering a contract with Suzaku. Instead he is merely asking a wish of his most beloved friend and ally, while at the same time getting back at Suzaku for all the trouble he’s caused Lelouch. Suzaku, who no doubt believes Lelouch truly IS dying, accepts his best friend’s dying request and treats it as an indestructible Geass command. If it had been a contract we would have seen the mental spiral vortex we see whenever the connection to C’s World is estabilished (Why DO they call it C’s World anyhow?).
23first off lelouch is alive… code doesnt kick in till one has died… and untill one dies they have geass… so lelouch had the ability to do what he did and still be imortal(code = rebirth in to imortality)
24second the guy saying C.C.’s name in joan or arc… C.C. cauld be using a cover name cause she should have known she was imortal… shes not stupid… if anything C is her first letter of her name
last he did gamble on others cause he know after he became imortal he’ll have to disappear from public and cant be seen… which also makes me think he chose suzaku cause he neaded someone other then him self to play the part with a mans voice in case he had to talk.
voiceofreasonornotR2, what I was trying to say was that in Nightmare of Nunnally CC’s original name had been replaced when Joan of Arc cursed her with her own. Supposedly it forced her to forget her own name, having only CC as a memento of what it might of been. In the article Lukchin expresses his belief that her original name was Elizabeth because Sissy (which sounds an awful lot like CC) is a nickname for Elizabeth.
Also, I think the whole “make Suzaku become Zero” bit was at least partly relieving himself of what malice he still had left for his old friend. If he truly is immortal and unable to show his face to the public it would be the wisest course of action for Lelouch himself to be Zero. He’s just tormenting his greatest friend-foe so he can laugh throughout the rest of Suzaku’s life.

well the code is activated when you die so he could use his geass before he dies
26Isn’t he supposed to get the code after he kills someone who posses it? I think that’s how it was o.0 I’ll check it later but i think that was the case. In that case he must have got the code after he killed his father and he shouldn’t have had geass later on.
27and it’s said that in the 3rd season the main character will be a boy with an mechanical arm, and there will be a person who looks like Lelouch and has unknown intentions. But it is said that it will be in a different era, and C.C. is looking for a new partner to make a contract with. If she already has Lelouch (who is immortal too) why does she needs another person? It is possible that it’s part of Lelouch’s master plan but…
28Tommy, that is the new MANGA series Jet-Black Renya set in the Edo period (Code Geass & R2 are set in a parallel modern day). The new ANIME season is going to supposedly based off of Nightmare of Nunnally.

so if there going off nightmare of nannaly it still deosnt make much sence cause nannaly made the contract with the doll while leloush is zero… but if leloush is not zero… will he make another symbol… or is it going in to alternat realitys that one forther on charactor will have to fix… i can see nannaly being the new hero/heroin to find out what happened to he brother to make him zero… but theres suzaku they have to explain… if anything its not going to be like nightmare of nannaly but close in design… and i also dont put much in to C.C. as being joan of arc cause she may have been using a cover name… shes sneaky sneaky like that if anything theyll say its one then some one will find out the real one but well never hear it like in season one…

lelouch, sadly, is dead. Yes, people, he really is dead. the art that people have flying around with lelouch’s face on the driver os the wagon, is fake. R2 means revolution, and r means rebellion. He did not inherit his fathers code because, technically, he didnt kill him. God did. And C2 is just making a statement at the end of the series by saying that stuff…. I realy dont wantr my favorite character to be dead, but yes, we all must face the facts. I already went through all of this in Harry Potter when Dumbledore died. Just because he mentioned throwing himself off the topmost tower does not mean he intended to do it…
32My theory on the third season, is that Lelouch is not dead, instead he staged the Zero Requiem in order to throw the world into “peace” and to root out the real enemies of the world, he will reclaim his title as Zero, and instead of an anti-hero position he will fight for true justice, again, this is speculation.
33I personally thinks that it does not matter whether lelouch is dead or not… I only concern about the fact that we still don’t know CC’s real name…
34Suzaku said he accepted the geass so would that mean lelouch made a contract with suzaku
35I totally agree with you, and , if you’re right (what I’m practically sure of, namely because of point nr.: 3 -> when she says “The power of Geass brings loneliness” she immediately disagrees with it; “that’s not quite right is it, Lelouch?” So… if Geass doesn’t bring loneliness anymore, it means C.C. has some1 that loves her and can accompany her in her immortal life, and if Suzaki is busy playing his role as Zero, the only remaining option is Lelouch =)
I count this end as an Happy Ending (= War is over, every1 Happy, Lelouch is with C.C. etc..) but as you say, I do think they should make another season about what is after that…

I beileve Lelouch is alive but he is in C’s world much like his mother when C.C. would talk to Marian they would comunicate through this world. So Lelouch is most likely not dead but not alive either.
37Yeah, but heres another possibility. Lelouch is dead, suzaku shot him, and you stupid anime fans are wasting your time. Or some mystical geass transaction ocurred, and lelouch used his mythical power to force his spirit to inhabit another body wirelessly, and turned himself into a cart driver. Then for no reason whatsoever, he bought a bunch of wheat and some oxes, and took C.C. around with him forever around some weird mountain plains. Wont that make an interesting season?
38Alexander, you don’t quite seem to get the whole “fantasy” thing. If someone killed you in real life you would assuredly die, and a few people would miss you for some time until they got over it. Meanwhile, we’re talking about anime here. Remember, this is the culture-defining wave which created its own sub-culture in response. This is the media form which gave us Dragonball Z, a series which kills and revives people in a nonstop cycle.
Considering the fact that we’re discussing a show in which a disowned prince with hypnotic mystical powers fights his Darwinist father using giant robots on skates, while at the same time dealing with a nonexistent deity and his father’s desire to obliterate free will from humanity by erasing unique personalities, are you really going to argue about possibilities now?!?
Just let us enjoy our fan-based fantasies, and remember that without these outlets we anime-lovers would probably all be sociopathic outcasts from society.
39I didn’t go that far in-depths with my reasons why Lelouch isn’t dead… if you think about it C.C. talks to Lelouch’s mom’s soul (or what ever) after she is dead because she is in her head. After Lelouch died C.C. talked to him so at least his soul is alive, so all they have to do is fix his body and get his soul back to his body to bring him back to live.
40He is alive. At the end CC is seen with an origami. Lelouch has been making those origami ever since before with Nunally. He is the caravan driver (or wahtever he was driving).
41Season3: Code Geass Gaiden: Boukoku no Akito (Akito of the Ruined Nation). It’s set in atb 2017, seven years after the start of the original Code Geass series, so probably 5-6 years after the end of Lelouch’s story, and unfortunately the world peace that was supposed to ensue didn’t. Europe is in the midst of a big war– and a small squadron of folks from Area 11 are on a mission that has only a 5% likelihood of success.

43hello, Code Geass WAS SET IN 2017. 2010 was when Lelouch was outcast from Brittania as a ten-year-old, and seven years later he starts up his revolution. In case you hadn’t noticed, that’s why R2′s first episode lists the date as ATB 2018, ONE YEAR AFTER THE BLACK REBELLION.
Still not a bad premise, but that other 95% suggests it’s probably fanfiction.
