James Cameron’s Avatar (NDS, PSP, PS3, Wii, Xbox360, PC – “Ignite the War” Trailer)

November 06, 2009 By: Lukchin (admin) Category: Delish Eats

James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game will take you deep into the heart of Pandora, an alien planet that is beyond imagination. Gamers will encounter the Na’vi, Pandora’s indigenous people and discover creatures and other wildlife the likes of which have never been seen in the world of videogames before. “Technically, we have a lot in common with Ubisoft and the game world,” says James Cameron, movie director of such hits as Aliens, The Terminator and Titantic. “We utilised highly sophisticated technologies in creating Avatar so, when it came to choosing a game company, I wanted a partner that would not only be inspired creatively by the world of Avatar but would have the capacity to keep up with the challenging demands of its technological needs. Ubisoft was that company.” James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game will launch this December for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS, PSP and PC. www.avatarmoviegame.com

EA AND STARZ MEDIA GO TO HELL TOGETHER WITH ANIMATED MOVIE BASED ON DANTE’S INFERNO (PS3, Xbox360, Anime, Movies – News)

March 30, 2009 By: Lukchin (admin) Category: Delish Eats

Feature to Complement EA’s Highly Anticipated Game, Taking Players into All Nine Circles of the Epic Poem’s Depiction of Hell

Guildford, UK.;March 30, 2009 – Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) and Starz Media’s Film Roman announced today the start of production on an animated movie based on the immortal epic Dante’s Inferno™. The feature-length project will expand on the story in EA’s new, must-have game coming out for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system and PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system in 2010.

Just as the poem and game take players on a stunning journey through the nine circles of Hell, the “Dante’s Inferno” animated feature will also follow Dante as he travels through limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery in search of his true love, Beatrice. Both are based on part one of Dante Alighieri’s classic poem, “The Divine Comedy,” better known as “Dante’s Inferno.”

To give added distinction among each of the nine circles, EA and Film Roman (co-producers on the “Dante’s Inferno” project) are taking the innovative step of commissioning unique visions from multiple studios with experience creating some of the top anime in the industry to tell this classic story. Film Roman’s Joe Goyette (“Dead Space™: Downfall”) is the producer on the project, Victor Cook (“The Spectacular Spider-Man,” “Hellboy Animated: Blood & Iron”) is directing and Brandon Auman (“Iron Man: Armored Adventures”) is writing.

“This is like nothing else out in the marketplace right now – a visually stunning project based on one of the most powerful stories ever told,” notes Jay Fukuto, Head of Studio for Film Roman. “It could only happen with a partner with the vision and creativity of EA. They were great collaborators on ‘Dead Space: Downfall,’ and we expect another very rewarding experience with this new feature.”

“The animated feature will be a great companion piece to the game,” said Jonathan Knight, Executive Producer and Creative Director for Dante’s Inferno. “The feature will explore aspects of the poem that the game does not, and will provide more insight into the characters and the unique story adaptation that the game has established. It’s a very cool project, and we are having a blast collaborating with the talented team that Starz has assembled.”

“Dante’s Inferno” marks the second such collaboration between the leading video game company and the premier traditional animation studio. In 2008, Film Roman produced “Dead Space: Downfall,” an animated feature prequel to EA’s award-winning video game Dead Space, both of which were both worldwide successes.

Starz Media will introduce the “Dante’s Inferno” animated feature to the international television community as it continues global sales of “Dead Space: Downfall” at the MIP-TV market, March 30-April 3 in Cannes, France. Anchor Bay Entertainment will hold exclusive worldwide home entertainment distribution rights to “Dante’s Inferno,” while Starz Media’s Worldwide Distribution group will handle international television and domestic syndication sales and Starz Digital Media will be responsible for all digital distribution globally.

The Dante’s Inferno game is being developed at EA Redwood Shores. For more information about the game, please visit www.dantesinferno.com .

Federer brought to tears by Nadal – 2009 Australian Open Final (Tennis – News)

February 02, 2009 By: Lukchin (admin) Category: Delish Eats

I was rooting for Federer to win the 2009 Australian Open Title but I have to respect Nadal’s sheer power and craziness.  The 5th set was up for grabs but Fed just didn’t have the mental audacity to pull it out.  Nadal is a great champ nonetheless.  Good luck for the next one Roger!

During the awards ceremony, Fed was overcome by it all (hey why wouldn’t he? he’s been beaten by Nadal so many times, he’s the only guy he truly has trouble with) and started bawling/crying on stage (see the video below).   Nadal, shame on you for making your tennis elder cry infront of millions of viewers!

Quick Bites: Fujiya

January 29, 2009 By: lixerx Category: Delish Eats, FOOD, TRAVEL AND LIFE

Fast food has evolved over the years where consumers have become more and more health conscious. And one cannot be faulted to think this way with the insurgence of health diseases, avian flu-like foods and unsafe products from China. At the same time, making the decision to eat healthier foods does not necessarily mean that the taste and joy of eating will be sacrificed. One may find many delicious and healthy food places in Vancouver just by asking the people around you. For instance, an acquaintance of mine recently introduced me to the local Fujiya supermarket which sells an extensive variety of authentic Japanese food. I was impressed wth the quailty and the price of the food that was ready to go. My favourite is the "Z Roll" which is a sushi roll that has rice, hamachi, albacore tuna, atlantic salmon, asparagus, cucumber, spicy mayonnaise, and seaweed. Fujiya carefully prepares their food in a reasonable portion for your convenience. The food tastes fresh which is important for sushi and sashimi and the chef does not pack in the rice. As a treat, I usually buy a small mochi which is a flour rice ball with a sweet paste. The bill ended up to be under ten dollars, now that is sweet! My only complaint is the lack of seating available in the dining area but this would not be a real problem if the sun is out, and there is a dry patch of grass for me to sit accompanied by a nice gentle breeze. I give Fujiya a 7/10 sushi rolls!

Momo Sushi (Downtown Vancouver – Sushi)

January 17, 2009 By: Lukchin (admin) Category: Delish Eats, FOOD, TRAVEL AND LIFE, VANCOUVER

Went to Momo on a recommendation from a friend.  Almost walked right by it because from the outside it just likes like a small hole in the wall.  Anyway, went in and it had it’s charm in atmosphere.  Chefs and waitresses seemed very friendly and actually Japanese.  The place was packed with people at the tables and with people waiting for takeout orders (this was about 12:05pm on a Friday).  We had to wait about 15 minutes to get a seat.  I think you should go at 11:45am if you want to get seated without waiting.

Anyway, sat down and ordered Box C and my friends ordered the Special A’s.  What value!  The Box C was $10 and the Special A was $7 I think.  They both came with miso soups and salads.  The quality of the food was great and value for sushi downtown ~ Amazing!  Definitely recommend going there.  One of my friends hurt us though in ordering a spicey scallop roll.  Presentation and quality was nice, but wow! the spiciness will OWN YOUR SOUL! Be Warned!

Overall rating: 9/10 (If the seating area was more spacious and a bit nicer in decor it would get 10/10)

Address and phone information:

6-375 Water Street, Vancouver, BC

(604)-683-7632

I haven’t tried making reservations but just looking at the way the restaurant is so busy and small I’m sure they don’t take them so go early.
